Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, administers and supports the assigned WTS system(s) for customers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Resolves EnterpriseOne technical and business issues within the standard problem escalation process.
  • Performs on-going tuning of the EnterpriseOne Web and Terminal Server environments.
  • Coordinates problem resolution using Customer Connection.
  • Regularly reviews the Customer Connection for fixes or enhancements that would benefit all customer implementations of EnterpriseOne.
  • Assists in the coordination of Disaster Recovery activities for EnterpriseOne as required.
  • Coordinates 3rd party CNC/Infrastructure services such as 3rd level vendor support as required.
  • Coordinates EnterpriseOne changes with other internal teams and customers.
  • Works with PMO management and Infrastructure Services (IS) to make recommendations for changes to the EnterpriseOne environment.
  • Prepares technical plans for the application of EnterpriseOne Service Packs, Electronic Software Updates, and upgrades.
  • Develops and updates documentation related to Change control as needed.
  • Coaches other project personnel to ensure that customer systems are set-up in a way that complies with business requirements and established methodologies and practices.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college in the field of computer science required.
  • Experienced in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne recent versions utilizing an AS/400 or NT platform.
  • 5-7 years of JD Edwards (EnterpriseOne & World) full life-cycle implementation experience.
  • Experience with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures.
  • Must have experience in object promotion, performing full and update package builds. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.0 and higher versions.
  • EnterpriseOne Upgrade experience is a requirement.
  • Problem resolution and incident management experience using Knowledge Garden.
  • Citrix Metaframe/terminal server experience preferred.
  • Websphere application server experience preferred.
  • Cross-functional project management experience is desirable.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of the JD Edwards development environment, data structures, OMW, OCM and package deployment methods.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in mainframe, midrange, and PC computing environments desirable; in-depth experience in one or more is critical.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of management; ability to motivate employees/teams to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems; excellent teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to conduct in-depth EnterpriseOne CNC troubleshooting, apply ESUs, patches, upgrades, Server/Environment configurations.
  • Ability to adhere to Configuration management policies and procedures.
  • Perform all CNC tasks with understanding of high availability.
  • Excellent understanding of networks including communication protocols, routers, and firewalls.
  • Excellent understanding of client server architecture, including DB2, SQL, and Oracle databases.
  • Excellent technical problem solving skills combined with strong customer service attitude to assist in operational and system issues.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to define issues and assist with preparation and recommendation of solution alternatives.
  • Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting (up to eight or more hours).
  • Keyboarding.
  • Some light bending.
  • Reaching and lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
