World Technology Services to provide CarrAmerica with hosting expertise for J.D. Edwards Enterprise Software Applications
Seattle, Washington - August 15, 2001 - World Technology Services Corporation (WTS), the first application service provider (ASP) partner for J.D. Edwards' collaborative commerce solutions, is providing hosting services for CarrAmerica Realty Corporation (NYSE: CRE), one of the largest property developers and operators of commercial office space in the United States. CarrAmerica completed a thorough analysis of outsourcing and leading ASPs, ultimately selecting WTS.
By outsourcing its J.D. Edwards applications with WTS, CarrAmerica is able to focus on its core business of developing and operating properties. Joel Manfredo, chief technology officer and managing director for CarrAmerica, is charged with transforming the technology infrastructure of the company in order to capitalize on its business capabilities. "The selection of WTS as our application service provider is one of the first major steps toward this transformation process. WTS is providing a J.D. Edwards co-existence environment for over 500 CarrAmerica users in 12 markets. CarrAmerica's migration to OneWorld® has begun with the implementation of the Human Resources suite. In addition to J.D. Edwards Financials, Job Cost, Property and Contract Management, WTS is also providing hosting services for Optika, a document imaging application, and FormScape, an output management solution.
As a J.D. Edwards Business Partner, WTS specializes in providing J.D. Edwards OneWorld, WorldSoftware™, and co-existence hosting services to over 3,000 users across the United States.
