The Weitz Company and Swinerton Incorporated Select J.D. Edwards To Accelerate Financial, Workforce and Project Management Processes

DENVER, Aug 27, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Driven by a need for increased operational effectiveness during these challenging economic times, two construction industry leaders have turned to J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq:JDEC) software to manage their projects, equipment, workforce, and financials. The Weitz Company and Swinerton Incorporated recently implemented J.D. Edwards ERP, further demonstrating J.D. Edwards' momentum in the construction industry. Weitz and Swinerton are two of over 300 clients that manage $80 billion in construction work using J.D. Edwards' collaborative enterprise software.

Iowa-based Weitz and San Francisco-based Swinerton implemented J.D. Edwards enterprise software to better manage their financial, human resource, and project management processes throughout their organizations. Swinerton is running J.D. Edwards enterprise software on a Windows-based platform using several load-balanced SQL servers. The Weitz Company operates its J.D. Edwards applications via a hosted ASP environment from WTS, a partner in the J.D. Edwards Managed Application Solutions program.
