OPTIKA INC. KICKS OFF 2003 AT ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT Partners of the Year and Customer Awards Announced. Colorado Springs, Colo.—Feb. 11, 2003—Optika Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTK), a leading Enterprise Content Management (ECM) provider of imaging, workflow, collaboration and records management software, today reported the success of its 2003 International Summit Conference. Held at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., Feb. 3-7, the Summit attracted more than 400 participants, including Optika customers, business partners and resellers. Each February, the Optika International Summit serves as the annual kickoff for the company's upcoming plans. Optika announces strategy and product direction for the year, trains business partners and customers on its solutions, exhibits technology integrations with strategic partners, and showcases successful customer applications in various industry segments. Mark K. Ruport, president, CEO and chairman of Optika, and John F. Mancini, president of AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) gave keynote addresses. Prominent Optika customers shared their success stories, including Merrill Lynch, BMC West, Flextronics, The Weitz Company and ING ReliaStar. The International Summit also featured several major reseller and customer awards. ImageSource, Inc. of Seattle, Wa., was named Optika's International Partner of the Year, as well as the U.S. Western Region Partner of the Year. Other Partner of the Year award winners were DTI Integrated Business Solutions for U.S. Eastern Region, AMI Imaging Systems for U.S. Central Region, Azertia for Latin America and HRH Business Technology for Europe. Customers who won prestigious Optika Success Driver awards include Milwaukee Electric Tool for Business Process Efficiency, Hallmark Data Sourcelink for Best ROI, Ceridian Tax Service for Most Innovative Imaging Solution and The Weitz Company and WTS for Uniting for Success. Finalists for customer awards were Airborne Express, International Truck and Engine Company, Washington State Department of Transportation and Priority Healthcare. At his opening general session address, Optika CEO Mark Ruport discussed the unique opportunity companies have in today's technological environment, and the variety of solutions Optika provides to meet the needs of the end user community. "I believe that Optika is excelling at extending the power of our customers and partners through a strong combination of products, people and processes. We are dedicated to helping companies achieve significant process efficiencies, and more importantly, to delivering the industry's best return on investment through intense customer focus." Ruport also spoke about Optika's successes in bringing new products to market in 2002, including Acorde 3.0, Optika's next-generation product suite that includes Web services and Microsoft's .Net capability, and extended integration capabilities with Oracle E-Business Suite and the Microsoft Business Solutions product family. Ruport announced that Optika's Acorde software platform was awarded certification with the J.D. Edwards 5 family of products. Plans for new products in 2003 were introduced, including Acorde Records Manager, and Acorde 4.0, scheduled for general availability in Q4, 2003.
