THE WEITZ COMPANY SELECTS WORLD TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TO PROVIDE HOSTING EXPERTISE FOR J.D. EDWARDS ONEWORLD SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

Seattle, Washington, November 21, 2001 - World Technology Services Inc. (WTS), the first application service provider (ASP) partner for J.D. Edwards (Nasdaq: JDEC) collaborative commerce solutions, will provide hosting services for The Weitz Company, the 27th largest general building contractor in the United States.

By outsourcing its J.D. Edwards applications with WTS, Weitz is able to focus on its core business of construction, rather than the ever-changing technology issues associated with enterprise software solutions. WTS will be providing Weitz with a J.D. Edwards OneWorld® Xe environment for 190 concurrent users and 370 employee self-service users. The software will be deployed utilizing the J.D. Edwards Java Application Server giving Weitz a fully Web-enabled business solution. WTS will also be hosting the AMX Prolog Data Bridge™, an interface between the J.D. Edwards applications and Meridian Project Systems’ Prolog Manager.

With Weitz targeting a go-live date of July 1, 2002, a swift and successful project kick-off was essential. "WTS’s ability to have a OneWorld Xe environment created on the same day as the contract signing was a great benefit to The Weitz Company.
