I am a Corporate Tax partner at WTS Germany with strong focus on international and cross-border as well as on M&A transactions. I was part of the founding team of WTS in 2000, consisting of five colleagues at the time. Prior to this, I worked as a Tax Manager at Siemens within the International Tax and M&A Tax Department. I am a trained lawyer and worked also for the German tax authorities before switching sides. Between 2006 and 2010, I was partner and co-head of an international law firm's tax department, where I advised, in particular, on M&A transactions. My decision to return to WTS was two-fold. Firstly, I wanted to return to a tax-boutique kind of firm. As a tax partner within an international law firm, I did not like to be mainly seen as a support function to the corporate M&A department as other types of tax work was not really appreciated. Secondly, I was eager to follow Fritz Esterer, whom I had known for many years and who was my former boss at Siemens. Fritz had taken over the CEO position at WTS in 2009. I was very much looking forward to working in an environment and company culture under his leadership.
As a board member of WTS Global and as the head of the M&A Tax service line, I aspire to make our tax network a global leading name. when it comes to international M&A transactions.
My motto for WTS Global: Team work is the key to success!
